This mixed-media piece utilises iron wall sculpture to create an extruded 3D effect. The image shows a great spire tapering into a bleak sky with a ruddy sheen and glimmers of light reflecting here and there. This very tall piece is strangely evocative of skyscrapers like the Empire State yet on the surface represents a more geographical feature. Rising up proudly from the ground yet also appearing worn and cracked this is a monument to time and ageing.
